Access Database Add-ons
Access can be programmed with thousands of features so this is not a comprehensive list - but it will give you many ideas of features that could be incorporated into your database. Add-ons are priced based on complexity. If you don't find the Add-on you need here I can give you a flat fee price quote for it.
Form Add-ons
Automatically Assign a Number or ID
A feature that will automatically assign the next customer number, next order number or any ID number that you normally assign manually.
Find Dropdown
Use a dropdown box on a form to look up and go to any record instantly.
Search Box
Add a search box to a form. As you type into the search box matching results will automatically be displayed.
Sorting Radios Add-on
Radio
buttons can be placed above sub-forms to change the way the
data is sorted on viewers and other forms that you use to
find or update records.
Cascading Dropdown Group
These
are dropdowns with contents limited by what was selected in
a previous dropdown. Selecting an item in the first
dropdown limits what is available in the next dropdown.
Multi-Selection List Box
Gives
you the ability to use you mouse and keyboard to pick and
choose multiple items from a list box, or to select all.
Combined with Date Range fields this is a great tool for
running reports.
Save Filter Add-on
Use filter tools to filter your columns on a datasheet and then save the filter to print a report or bring up later.
Advanced Calculation Field
These are calculated fields that may be that require special code or queries to work like you expect.
Button to Lock and Unlock Form
Add a button that will unlock fields that you want to protect from users who accidently edit a record.
Password Protect a Single Field
Require that a password be entered before a user is able to edit a field.
Use Plus and Minus Keys to Toggle
A feature that lets you use plus and minus keys to add to or subtract from numbers, or to increase or decrease dates.
Button to View Address on a Map
Add a button to a form that will launch a webpage with a map showing your customers address.
Special Confirmation Message Box
Access asks for your confirmation before taking certain actions. Sometimes you find you need other special message boxes to open that Access does not have built in.
Convert Case
After typing into a files, automatically have the text converted to upper case, lower case or proper case.
Button to Set Hyperlink
Add a button that will allow you to browse to the file you'd like to set the hyperlink to.
Refresh Form Every x Seconds
Some forms, especially viewers, stay open all day long. This feature will refresh the data on the form automatically during the day.
Button to Open a Folder
Add a button to a form that will open a folder on your computer.
Set and Display Pictures
A feature that allows you to assign a picture to a record so that it will appear every time you bring up that record.
Barcode Integration
Use barcodes? Allow a field to read and record the results of a barcode scanner or wand.
Email Button
Add a button to a form that will launch an Outlook email with the email address filled in - ready for you to send.

Advanced Calculation Field

PDF and Email Button
A button that will create a PDF of your report or letter and attach it to an Outlook email.
Display Pictures on Report
A feature that allows you to assign a picture to a record so that it will appear on a report.
Print a Barcode
Add a barcode to a report, letter or label.

General Database Add-ons
Non-Visible Field in a Table
Every
field in a table is FREE OF CHARGE as long as there is at
least one form or report showing that field from the table.
Any fields in a table which are not visible on at least one
form or report is an additional charge.
User Login Add-on
Force users to enter a password when the database opens. The database can then be setup to restrict access to some forms and reports based on who is logged in and to record who is making entries into the database.
Import Data Feature
This feature allows you to import data into your database from a spreadsheet, csv file or several other file formats.
Export Data Feature
Add a button to export your data to a spreadsheet, csv file or several other file formats.
Feature to Manage Inventory
More advanced code and queries are needed to manage your specific inventory methods.
Feature to Auto-Create Folders
This feature will automatically create folders on your computer or server after you perform some action.
Special Looping
Normally Access uses queries to update batches of data. Sometimes special loops are needed to update batches of information in the database.
Mass Email Add-on
Send an Outlook email to many recipients at once.
Audit Trail Feature
This Add-on is used to track new entries, deletes or changes users make to a record.
Add Your Business Logo
See your logo on forms and reports - anywhere in the database you want.
One Time Data Import
I'll import your data into your new database to get you up and running. All you need to do is prepare the file in a clean column and row format.
